Course Description: We have a 28 target course and practice butts set over gently undulating mixed woodland, with the construction of a tree stand
Course Suitability: We have had archers at all levels enjoy using the course
Course Access: It is a one loop course of 28 targets, there is a safe exit/entrance after target 9 and a safe shortcut between targets 18 and 23 so archers of limited fitness can shorten the course if they wish while practising, the terrain is not very steep either. Mobility issues are more of a challenge and we have had archers experiment with various approaches without success
Car Parking: Parking will take around 60/70 cars with good marshalling, the access track is bumpy in place but passable with an ordinary car with care and common sense
Toilet Facilities: Merlin has toilet facilities. at the Clubhouse (Target 1) and at the halfway point (Target 15)
Visiting Archers: We host a WA tournament annually open to all AGB archers. In 2024 we are organising an open day so AGB archers can experience our course without attending a formal shoot. Club members are permitted to take an EFAA member around the woods to shoot as a visitor, however the following is required before doing so. Email/message to be sent to Club Secretary prior to the visitor attending confirming their name, copy of current EFAA membership card and date they will be shooting. There will be a charge of £10 payable in advance via BACS. NFAS/AGB members can request a have-a-go and be accompanied by one of our EFAA Instructors around the course
Catering: WA and EFAA national shoots are catering, hot and cold drinks. EFAA classification shoots hot drinks
