UKII 2008 Championship Facilities at Whitemark Bowmen
Written by Whitemark Bowmen

Courses and Campus
Courses are laid out in attractive mixed woodland within the mainly flat Sheepcote Farm Estate. Over the two days of the championship, archers shoot two of the three 14-target courses, so overcrowding and delays should be minimised. The event campus is on the grounds of the Golf Club, next to its clubhouse. The archery community has access to the Golf Club’s facilities including the lounge, bar and toilets. Archers are welcome to use the 9-hole pay-and-play course so bring your clubs if you want to play.

Hospitality
Refreshments are available to purchase on all courses during shooting. The Whitemark chuck wagon is open for breakfast and after shooting on both days. The Golf Club lounge and bar is open during normal licensing hours.

On Saturday evening, a mixed buffet offering a choice of hot or cold dishes, including barbeque and vegetarian options, is to be served after the end of shooting. Pre-booking for the buffet is required. Tickets are priced £8. Alternatively, there are many restaurants, takeaways, pubs and shops within a couple of miles

On Site Camping
Basic camping facilities are available on the event campus for tents, caravans and camper vans. Fresh running water, toilets and limited washing facilities (no showers) are available day and night at the golf clubhouse. This is not a permanent campsite so there is neither electricity supply to the camping area, nor any refuse disposal facility. No open fires are allowed and no holes may be dug (except for tent pegs). Dogs are not permitted on the campsite or courses. Use of the camping area is entirely at your own risk

Camping spaces are limited so must be pre-booked and pre-paid. For each space, one person should book for all those sharing that space. The booking fee for the whole, or any part, of the weekend for competitors, spectators or visitors is £10 per adult, £5 per cub/junior, under fives free. The camping area is open from 2pm Friday 4th to 10am Monday 7th.
